What age groups are suitable for these classes?Secondary school students from academic years of 7 -11. So, students aged 11-16.

Which classes are suitable for me?For students in Years 7 & 8 (aged 11-13) - the Year 7 & 8 Science classes are suitable. They can attend the Essentials class and/or the Comprehensive class*. *If the student is currently in Year 6 and going into Year 7 in September – they can attend the Year 7 & 8 Science Essentials class. For students in Years 9, 10 & 11 (aged 14-16) – the GCSE classes are suitable*. *If the student is currently in Year 8 and going into Year 9 in September – they can attend the GCSE essentials classes.

What is the difference between Essentials and Comprehensive?The main difference is the level of complexity; however, the structure of the lesson remains the same. Essentials classes – focuses on necessary basic topics and is suitable for all students studying GCSE Science. Comprehensive classes – focuses on more advanced topics and is more suitable for students wanting more advanced learning.

What should we expect?Once a class is booked and you have registered, you will receive an email with instructions to join the class, this will be through Zoom webinar. It will be a 40-minute virtual class covering a Science topic. With the use of PowerPoint presentations, polling and sometimes Q&A’s opportunities. The Science topic will cover content that is essential to the curriculum. Examination style questions may be introduced as learning progresses. Refer to FAQ’s tab for further details.
